May: Raining Music and Comedy

Sunday 8th May 2016 @ The Apex, Bury St Edmunds

Rainer Hersch

Rainer is a musician and comedian who performs on every major comedy stage in Britain and abroad. A trained classical pianist, Rainer began life as an agent to some of the world’s great orchestras – his last official job title was Touring Manager of the London Festival Orchestra. However, unknown to his employers, he had also started appearing as a stand-up comedian on the London comedy circuit. He eventually devoted himself full-time to comedy in 1992. Whatever his role on stage, Rainer’s energy is immediately passed on to his audience and the rapport he generates is boisterous and fun.

”This is a Broadway caliber show, a laugh every four bars” – CBC channel (Canada)

Dave Johns

Dave has been a stand up comic since 1989 and is a regular headlining act playing all the major comedy clubs in the UK and comedy festivals world wide. He has worked on stage in the Middle East, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Johannesburg, Sydney, New York, Amsterdam and the Arctic. He is a regular guest on comedy panel shows ‘Never Mind The Buzzcocks’ (BBC2) and ‘8 Out Of Ten Cats’ (C4) and starred in the BBC3 late night sitcom ‘Dogtown’.

”Look closely you will see the man generate sparks of magic” – The List

Kevin McCarthy

Once seen never forgotten, Kevin is one of the best acts on the UK comedy circuit. With an ever changing act, and the ability to find humour in any subject, Kevin’s cuddly personality and utterly relaxed stage persona puts the audience instantly at ease. An accomplished stand-up comedian, and burgeoning talent as a comic actor, he’s a real coup for any comedy club or corporate event.

April: A Spring Feast of Quirky Comics

Sunday 10 April 2016 @ The Apex, Bury St Edmunds

Seems to be a theme of long haired bearded men this month, but check out how each of these quirky chaps are so different…

Glenn Wool

Glenn began his comedy career in his hometown of Vancouver in 1995. He moved to London in 1998 and quickly became one of the rising stars of the London and international comedy circuit. Despite his shaggy laid back appearance, don’t judge a book by it’s cover. He’s an intelligent comedian who focuses on Religion and Politics but with a simply universal approach.

Glenn is a regular TV face having made appearances on The World Stands Up, Comedy Blue and Edinburgh and Beyond for Comedy Central, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, and the  BBC Stand Up Show.

“Effortlessly funny with an affability that other comics can only dream of – You have to go and see Glenn Wool. ” The Guardian.

Eric Lampaert

Another quirky act for you! French-born, Belgian-raised Eric was a finalist in the Amused Moose Laugh Off competition 2008. But since 2008, Eric’s play-dough face and weird grasshopper legs have been used on the stand up comedy circuit. And sometimes his face gets on the television, which can cause quite a stir. Some people think his face is CGI. It’s not. That’s his actual face and he loves it.

Matt Reed

Matt returns to the Fat Cat and we cannot wait for this cheeky Sunderland born chap to once again grace us with his mastery of sarcasm. He has lots of energy and is rather like a Mad Hatter, there’s nothing not to like!

“Fantastic and talented up and comer a future in comedy assured” – The Independent
